Dislocations of the Talus

Abstract
Peritalar dislocation of the foot describes the simultaneous dislocation of the talo navicular joint and subtalar joint while the tibiotalar relationship is maintained. It was described first by Judcy and Dufaurets in 1811.
These joint injuries fall into two broad categories, subtalar dislocation and total talar dislocation. Three talar dislocations (one total, one medial, one lateral talar dislocation) were treated in Severance hospital. All patients were available
for
follow-up study.
Patient with medial subtalar dislocation and little loss of subtalar motion, the lateral dislocation was causing important disability. Avascular necrosis of talus was developed in cases with total dislocation.
